At the end of 2018, I received the Simon Fraser University Faculty of Communication, Art, and Technology (FCAT) Emerging Research Award. This award is for demonstrated excellence in early-career research. Only one of these awards is handed out annually and it was an honour to receive it.
The award was adjudicated by a university-wide panel, FCAT describes the awards as being “part of a larger initiative to promote research excellence across the university, FCAT’s awards will recognize individual and collaborative contributions to excellence in innovative, interdisciplinary and community-engaged research and research creation.”
